奥古斯丁，年轻时，曾沉迷酒色，不能自拔，陷入罪的捆绑之下。他也苦苦追寻真理，读了许多的书，遍访了各地的贤人智士，却一直得不到真理的满足。一日，当痛苦不堪的他在花园散步时，突然听到一个声音：“拿起来读！拿起来读！”于是，他打开圣经。刹那间，书上的话语击中了心灵的深处。于是他痛哭祷告，真理的圣灵进入了他的心，他成了新造的人，得到了真理，也得到了心灵的释放。后来，他成为基督教史上一位著名的神学家。

Hello, I’m Helen Marsden.I work as a marking manager for a large pharmaceuticals company. My department produces vaccines against hepatitis and so on.We normally sell our vaccines directly to doctors so one of my jobs is to discuss our new products with doctors. Marketing managers don’t always do this ,but I do as I’m a qualified doctor. I’m also responsible for our publicity material so I have to deal with designers and printers. My area is central Europe, so I have to deal with the health authorities in those countries. That means my job involves a lot of traveling. And finally, when we produce a new vaccine, it’s my job to organize a conference for the medical press so that they can ask us questions about it.

Hello,I’m Robin Seaton. I work for a company called Vacupack. I’m responsible for employing most of the people in the company. I write the job advertisements and then I have to choose which applicants I want to interview. Usually, I interview the applicants with the head of the department where the vacancy is . Of course many of them are work-related ,but people to sometimes come to discuss personal problems with me . Good afternoon. My name is Juliet Sharman and I’m here to talk about Great Eastern’s performance. As you all know, Great Eastern has only been a private company since it was bought by FirstGroup as part of the privatization of the national railway network in 1997. In the years before privatization, the company made a lot of changes to prepare it for the free market. I’d like to tell you a bit about those changes and show you how they’ve affected the company’s performance since 1993. to do this , I’d like to draw your attention to figures three and four on page eight of your information brochures.

I’d like to begin with a look at the bar chart, which shows annual growth in passenger revenue from 1993 to1997.  As you can see, growth slowed from 2.4% in 1993/94 down to just 1% in 94/95. however, reduced costs and more efficient sales practices resulted in growth reaching 9.9%in 1995/96 . This was followed by 7%in 1996/97. The bar chart clearly shows that the changes have made a big difference financially and have improved customer satisfaction, as we’ll see.

I’m sure you’ve all read newspaper stories about bad service on the privatized rail network, so I’d like you to look at figure four, which shows Great Eastern’s reliability and punctuality figures. As you can see from this graph, the company has an excellent reliability record. Reliability improved steadily from 99.1% in 1993 to 99.3%in 1995 , where it has remained. Punctuality also rose steadily, going from 90% in 1993 to 91%  in 1995 . You’ll notice the drop to 88%in 1996, which I’ll explain later. Although we haven’t received the final figures yet, I can tell you that punctuality improved in 1997 and has continued to improve this year as a result of further investment.

 

So , that’s the end of my presentation . Does anyone have any questions?

Sorry. I said I’d explain that, didn’t ? well, it was mainly because of problems with the railway track. As you know , we have to lease both the track and our trains from other companies. The track belongs to a company called Railtrack. Although we receive penalty payments from them for any delays due to the track, it doesn’t  help our reliability figures . we don’t like the situation but we can’t change it . Next question, please.

Could you tell us a bit about the company’s future investment plans?

Of course. At the moment Great Eastern is investing ￡9m in upgrading its stations. This includes facilities , information systems and security. We’re also investing in new trains, which will lead to improved reliability levels. The gentleman at the back, please..

With the Government reducing its financial support to the company each year, how do you hope to improve profits in the future?

That’s a good question. The Government is going to give us less and less money over the next few years .and , as I said , we have to lease both the track and our trains , so our biggest costs are fixed. The only way the company can improve profits is by increasing passenger volumes. That’s why we’re spending so much on improving customer satisfaction. Next question, please.

 

I like to learn English when I started to study, so I chose it as my major. Of course, it has more advantages than other languages.

First, English is an easy kind of language to learn. It has only twenty-six letters and sixteen tenses. Most of the verbs change regularly. The grammar is easy to understand.

Secondly, English is used widely in the policy, business, law,  negotiation between countries. It is spoken in many countries and nations. Modern generation have to study it ,especially, in China.

Thirdly, I want to travel around the English spoken countries. Different countries have different divers cultures and histories, and English is such a public language that I can use it to understand the people, the culture and the nature.

In one word, I take what I love ,and I want to learn it well to communicate with foreigners.

中央6台连续3天播放了美国记录片<探索宇宙起源之谜>,我贴了通知，可自己也没有看全。

第一天认真看了，很专业很深奥，讲地球和宇宙的关系，和其他8大行星的关系，比较它们的质量、体积、重量，距离……说的都是几亿几十亿年前的事情，好象和上帝关系不大。

第二天我忙着作音乐，忘了看了。

第三天，也就是今天，我刚好出去办事，回家早，12点15打开电视，结果已经在放了，而且好象都快完了。但就是这最后的一部分，让我大受震动，原来他拉这么长的过门，就是为了说明最后这几句话。

所有的科学实验研究成果宇宙探索，不管愿意不愿意相信不相信，都无一例外地得出了一个结论，那就是：宇宙“大爆炸”（目前科学家的说法）是一个非常周密而完美的计划，它既不是单纯的自然现象，也不是人可以做到的，只能是神的作为。

人类一直想搞明白生命的起源，人究竟从哪里来的，总要有个出处吧，从猴子变来的荒唐理论已经被推翻了，因为根本找不到从猿到人的中间状态，进化论不攻自破。而且就算是从猴子来的，猴子又是从哪里来的呢？就算是从鱼变来的，那鱼又是从哪里来的呢？

去太空寻找生命,成了找到生命起源可能性的途径，科学家纷纷把目光投向天空。月球也去了，火星也去了，在那里，他们发现了大概五六种支持生命存在的因素，但是生命的存在需要200多种因素呢，缺哪一种都不行，显然除了地球以外没有发现任何生命的迹象。

奇怪的是，为什么这200多种生命因素如此齐全地出现在了地球上，科学家认为，这种同时存在的概率几乎为0（有个数字，记不清楚了）。最后科学家做了这么一个比喻，就好比一颗手榴弹爆炸了，我们这些人类跟着一个弹片飞到了这个地方。而这手榴弹的爆炸绝对不是一次偶然事件，而是有计划有目的的行动，一定经过精心策划和设计的。

比如地球和太阳的距离，近一点我们会热死，远一点会冻死。地球旋转的角度，恰巧让所有的人都能照到太阳。地球的吸引力也是恰好让我们既不会飞离地面，又可以在地上奔跑。还有那将我们保护起来又给我们足够空气的大气层，为什么就出现在地球的表面而没有在别的星球上？还有大海河流，这维持生命的水源竟如此充足地遍满大地，而高山上的冰川和天上的雨水，总是那么及时地补充大地的水源。还有地下的石油，天然气，森林，各种动物……真是不敢想啊，他们都是从哪里来的。

以前真的没有太注意啊，好象都是理所当然的，是原来如此的。现在想想看，科学家有给我们满意的答案吗？很遗憾，没有。

是上帝白白给我们的啊！为什么如此一目了然的事实人们就不愿意承认呢？

但是那些一辈子做深入研究的大科学家们却在不同的领域不约而同地得出了相同的结论：一定是神（暂时这么称呼吧）创造了这一切，一定有一种超自然的力量在控制着这一切，否则一切都是不可思议的。

过去我们会很习惯地说:这些都是自然规律,可是我们有没有想过,规律又是哪里来的?难道如此精确的规律是天然的吗?不,规律也是是神制造的.

因为所有人的智慧都无法解释现有的一切。说到这里我想起了在网上邂逅的物理博士“王大叔”，他说他确信神的存在，因为所有的问题只要一直问下去，都是没有答案的，即便有也是暂时的，局部的答案，而且越是有学问的人越是不敢下结论，因为他们深知，答案只能在神那里。这些大科学家包括牛顿，爱因斯坦,爱迪生,诺贝尔……

最有意思的是霍金,他没有正常人的身体,却有着过人的智慧,而且这个智慧是专门用来研究天体的,他似乎可以看到我们一般人无法看到的领域,具有透视功能,但是他越来越无法解释他看到的事实.他最近提出的设问是:难道这一切都是为了证明上帝的存在吗?

有些人是从生活中的苦难走向上帝的，比如我教会的大多数人。有人是从心灵的苦难走向上帝的，比如我。有人是从探索奥秘走向上帝的，比如无数自然科学家和宇航员。最有说服力的，可能是后者。

这个时候,我们再来看看圣经:起初,神创造天地,地是空虚混沌,渊面黑暗,神的灵,运行在水面上.......

这是几千年前那些没有接受过系统文化教育的古人写出来的句子,难道不令人震惊吗?

1、遇到乞讨者：遇到要钱的就给他（她）点饭，遇到要饭的就给他（她）点钱
2、上车遇到老弱病残、孕妇：让座的时候别动声色，也别大张旗鼓。站起来用身体挡住其他人留出空位子给需要的人，然后装作下车走远点。人太多实在走不远，人家向你表示谢意的时候微笑一下。
3、遇到迷路的小孩和老头老太太，能送回家送回家，不能送回家的送上车、送到派出所也行，如果有电话的替老人或小孩打个电话就走，反正你也不缺那两个电话费 
4、雨雪的时候、天冷的傍晚或者是雪天的傍晚，遇到卖菜的、卖水果的、卖报纸的剩的不多了又不能回家，能全买就全买，不能全买就买一份，反正吃什么也是吃，看什么也是看，买下来让人早点回家
5、遇到迷路的人打听某个地址，碰巧你又知道，就主动告诉一声。别不好意思，没有人笑话你 
6、捡到钱包就找找失主，如果你实在缺钱就把现金留下。打电话告诉失主就说你在厕所里捡到的。把信用卡、身份证、驾驶执照还给人家，一般人家也不会在乎钱了。把人家的地址记在你的笔记本上，以后发达了去找人家道个谦，把钱还给人家。
7、遇到学生出来打工的、勤工俭学的，特别是中学生、小姑娘。她卖什么你就买点，如果她不是家庭困难，出来打工也需要勇气的，鼓励鼓励她吧 
8、到夜里摆地摊的，能买就多买一些，别还价，东西都不贵。家境哪怕好一点，谁会大冷天夜里摆地摊
9、如果钱还宽裕，别养二奶，偷偷养几个贫困山区的学生。别让人家知道你是谁，要不然见面了多尴尬，多不好意思。但是你心里一定会觉得舒坦，比包二奶提心吊胆的要好得多。

10、如果时间还宽裕，而且碰巧觉得我这个人还顺眼，那就顶一下我的贴子，总比去顶看了觉得上当的贴子舒服。时间宽裕不少就请把这几句话多转几个地方，毕竟好人多了咱们心里也舒坦 。
